On Saturday, September 17, 2016, St. Bernadette’s Knights of Columbus held their annual Golf Tournament. Each year local Knights of Columbus Councils field a team to compete for the local KofC Trophy. The St. Clare Knights of Columbus team won among the KofC teams, retaining the trophy, and finishing 2nd for the overall tournament. Congratulations to team members Luis Zepeda, Craig Lanham, Jerry Moch, and Joe Voor.
Welcome New Knights for September
The St. Clare Knights of Columbus – Council 9708 welcomes our new Knights; Jim Burn, Rich May, and Jesus Suarez.
The ceremonies were held at the Shrine of the True Cross Parish; Dickinson, Texas at the Knights of Columbus Hall – Father Roach Council 3217. We also had Cale Urban, Justin Adkins, Jim Burn, and Jesus Suarez advance to 3rd Degree Knights. Congratulations and Welcome to all !
Co-Cathedral Tour
On Sunday, September 11, the Knights and their families took a tour of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Houston. This was especially meaningful since it was also the 15th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our Nation. What a great way to honor the memory of those that lost their lives on that day.
Saloon Door Brewing
On Thursday, August 25, the Knights and their spouses met at the Saloon Door Brewing for dinner and game night. This is a new business in the Clear Lake area that’s a craft brewery and sports bar. A great night of fellowship with some taking a brief tour of the brewing area.
St Clare Feast Day Parish Breakfast
The 3rd St. Clare Parish Breakfast was held in the St. Clare of Assisi Family Life Center on August 14, 2016. The Knights of Columbus Council 9708 hosted the complimentary breakfast for the Parish in honor of St. Clare’s Feast Day. The Knights served up scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, juice, milk, and a lot of fun.
The Knights of Columbus Parish Breakfast continues to grow in popularity, doubling in size from each of the previous two events; approximately 180 people on Sunday. See more photos in our Galleries.
St. Clare Parish Breakfast
The 2nd St. Clare Parish Breakfast was held on June 26 in the St. Clare of Assisi Family Life Center. The event was hosted by the St. Clare Knights of Columbus Council 9708. Father Vincent invited the entire parish to the breakfast as a way to meet fellow parishioners while enjoying a relaxing breakfast.
The event continues to be enhanced by expanding the menu to include to a full breakfast consisting of:
- Scrambled eggs
- Pancakes
- Sausage
- Coffee
- Juice
Although just the 2nd event, the attendance nearly doubled from the first event and will continue to grow in popularity. We’re committed to making this a great event that everyone can enjoy. So please give us feedback, and let us know how we can make it even better!
