The St. Clare Knights were recognized for their “Food for Families Program” by the Knights of Columbus with a Plaque. Grand Knight Bill Hoff presents the plaque to Mike Hahn who has been instrumental in the Food for Families Program for many years scheduling several Houston and Galveston County Food Bank visits. Congratulations to all Brother Knights and Parish participants who have participated in this wonderful program.
Stan Lewis Receives Honorary Life Membership
The St. Clare Knights recognized Stan Lewis at their Membership Meeting with an Honorary Life Membership Award in recognition of his long-term dedication to the Order. After 25 years of continuous service (at the age of 70), or 50 years of continuous membership regardless of age, a member merits the distinction of Honorary Life membership and is exempt from the further payment of dues. Congratulations Stan!
St. Clare Knights Provide Sacramental Gifts for Confirmation
Knights Mel Hizon and Charles Conaway provide Sacramental Gifts to all those receiving Confirmation on Sep 26, 2021. This event is one of the most significant in the Church and in each of the participant’s lives. The Knights are pleased to provide a gift to commemorate this very special occasion.
Knights Help to Expand Loving Choice Pregnancy Center
The Loving Choice Pregnancy Center is the only Catholic Pregnancy Center in the Archdiocese and only the second in Texas. The Center is expanding taking on approximately 50% more space and the St. Clare Knights with there to help in a big way with that expansion. Family Night at the Ball Park
Brother Knights and their Families enjoyed a Family Night at the Ball Park to see the Houston Astros play the Kansas City Royals on August 24, 2021. The TV crew caught this shot of our group enjoying the game. The Astros won 4-0.
St. Clare Knights Donate Water Fountains to School
As the new School Year is beginning, the St. Clare Knights donated two water fountains to the School. The two new water fountains are touchless which also includes a touchless bottle filling station to help mitigate the spread of illness.
St. Clare Knights Donate to School
The St. Clare Knights of Columbus, presented Fr. Vincent Nguyen with a check for $3,000 for the benefit of St. Clare Clare of Assisi Catholic School. The money will be used to replace two school water fountains. The new fountains will include touchless water bottle filling stations for students to help mitigate the spread of Covid 19. Grand Knight Bill Hoff and Lecturer Pat Hall, made the presentation on Sunday, August 15 after 9:00 mass.
Jerry Moch – District Deputy of the Year
Congratulations to Jerry Moch – District Deputy of the Year! Our very own Jerry Moch was honored as the “District Deputy of the Year” at the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese Training Conference on Sunday July 25, 2021. This is a well-deserved honor in recognition of Jerry’s hard work throughout the Archdiocese and working with 5 Knights of Columbus Councils (Councils 2788, 5232, 6234, 7206, & 9708) in Baytown, LaPorte, Houston, and Nassau Bay. Jerry also served as the Golf Committee Chairman for the Knights of Columbus State Convention in which the Texas Knights had their most successful event ever. Congratulations Jerry!
2021 KofC Family Cookout
The St. Clare Knights of Columbus hosted their 2021 Family Cookout on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Texas Avenue Park in Webster. We were blessed with a nice breeze, no rain, great music, a variety of games, and an abundance of food. Approximately 65 people attended the event. A special thank you to all those that made the day possible by hauling equipment, setting up, cooking, bringing side dishes, cleaning up, packing up, and hauling equipment back.
St. Clare Knights Receive State Charity Award
Grand Knight Bill Hoff receives the Quick Start Charity Award on behalf of the Council from District Deputy, Jerry Moch. The Quick Start Charity Award is presented to those Councils that have met their Charity Goal by December each fraternal year. The St. Clare Knights have now met their charity goal for 15 years in a row!
